![]() As I joined the recent challenge, I found out that I need to pay for two body scans at $25 each in order to participate. Another items that I don't like is that they pushed that unlike OTF, they don't charge for Challenges (at least in my studio). THe only premium thing I can see is that there are TWO coaches per class vs one at OTF but nothing else. I still have no clue what they mean and when I ask the owners - they feed me used car salesmen talk and it annoys me so I stopped asking. The only things I don't like about F45 so far which might vary studio from studio but they push heavily that they are more PREMIUM option to OTF. I like that F45 has timed approach with sets repeating twice or sometimes three times so you can really concentrate on the form and process vs trying to do 30 reps and run to rower. OTF would push for number of reps and then go to rower or something else so naturally i'd always feel like i didn't want to be the last one to go (yes I know I shouldn't care). The biggest improvement i see for me at F45 is the fact that you don't feel rushed through exercised. I've never been to Shred415 so cannot comment on it. My studio does some days with mostly weight training and some days have more of a cardio style work out while still using weights but a lot of body weight exercises in between. F45 is definitely a lot more weight training but it also depends on the days. I've been going to OTF for several years before switching to F45 quite recently. I will take their circuit fit class here and there. I dont want super heavy weights, like 15-30lbs. ![]() I am not into Crossfit, though I have tried it out by me and loved the studio and people. I need 30 min of weights vs just 14.5 during an hour class. Really wanting to get back to my Shred body and OTF just isn't cutting it. What is a pod? How many people are in a class? Is it similar to Shred or Crosstown or Sweat (also Chicago based that had HIIT and AMRAP workouts, not crossfit). I've checked out a few of the exercises on this page. I have seen F45 pop up a few times here and there. I also loved being able to sign up for Abs/Arms days, Butt/Leg days or Total Body depending on what areas I wanted to focus on (or needed a break from). I feel like I had much better overall workout at Shred. I've been going 5-6 days a week for 2 months and see zero improvement. There is no Shred415 by me, so I joined OTF. Now, with COVID, I'm working from home and not going to Chicago. Has anyone gone to Shred415 and/or Orange Theory? I used to work out at Shred414 in Chicago and was in the best shape of my life.

We engage these key drivers of change in the process of change, and help ensure that the policies, processes, and practices across the school align, blend, and compliment. Too many initiatives fail to make an impact because the model and culture do not match, and this is often because the initiative doesn’t have the overt and committed direction of the school leader.Īn addition to the WSCC Model would therefore be the addition of culture, led by the influence of the school leader.īy focusing attention towards the school leader we prepare them with the skills and mindsets to implement change and to enhance their influence across the school community. The original WSCC Model has brought the sectors closer together but if there is one aspect that may be missing it is the underpinning influence of the school culture, led by the overarching direction of the school leader. The principal provides education credibility to almost any initiative they champion, and as such, most school teams buy-in. Principals have the power to set the tone and establish a new order of business in a school. Culture is influenced by everyone inside the school but if there is one role or one group that has oversized influence it’s the principal, the school leader. The answer is by focusing on the leadership of the school. So, the question, if culture is so key, is how do we make sure that the culture matches the model? And a school’s culture - resulting from the school’s climate, the actions, interactions of everyone in that environment - plays an outsized role in the success of failure of any new initiative. What may look good on paper or on the board room whiteboard will not succeed unless the culture matches the model. It highlights the role that a culture can play over the best intended plans, strategies, or models. ‘Culture eats strategy for breakfast’ is a term we’ve heard a lot in the business community and its as applicable in the public sector. 3)Īnd while the use and expansion of this model has grown over the years there is still something missing. Health and well-being have, for too long, been put into silos-separated both logistically and philosophically from education and learning. The model sought to enhance the collective strength of the school and its community while at the same time breaking down any figurative walls that existed between the sectors and services. It emphasizes a schoolwide approach rather than one that is subject- or location-specific, and it acknowledges the position of learning, health, and the school as all being a part, and reflection, of the local community. The new model redirects attention onto the ultimate focus of the two sectors-the child. This wasn’t the first model to advocate health to schools and their communities, the original Coordinated School Health Model ( JOSH, 1987) sought to do the same, but it was the first to focus attention of the symbiotic relationship between health and education, and the first to direct attention towards both sectors’ common goal – the child. Over recent years, and especially as a result of the pandemic, it has taken on greater prominence and greater adoption. ![]() and used by the vast majority of states, districts, and schools. In the ensuing years it has become to preeminent school health framework in the U.S. Launched the following year this model was a response to the “call for greater alignment, integration, and collaboration between education and health to improve each child’s cognitive, physical, social, and emotional development.” ( ASCD, 2014, p. In 2013 I helped lead the development of the Whole School, Whole Community, Whole Child Model (WSCC) – a collaboration between the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and ASCD. ![]() I connected the XIAO RP2040 to a computer and used a basic MicroPython program to turn on the LEDs and detect key presses.Īfter confirming that the circuit was working properly, I fixed it to the 3D printed base, being careful not to break the resin while screwing. After soldering the hot-swap switches and encoder, I tested the keyboard. The PCBs, switches, and printed parts arrived on time, and I was impressed with the quality and detail of the assembled PCBs. The parts were 3D printed using resin for better resolution, finish, and the option of transparent cases to show the circuit and RGB LEDs. The cover has holes to pressure-fit the switches and protect the internals. The case has a base with M2.5 screws to fix the PCB and holes for the XIAO's USB-C port and RESET/BOOT buttons. I used Eagle's tool to export the 3D models to Fusion 360 and created a case based on the PCB model. While waiting for the PCBs, I ordered the other parts and worked on a case design. However, Seeed Studio was able to find and add the parts with the part number and reference PDF. Seeed Studio recommended using parts from the Open Parts Library for faster assembly times, but the SK6812 MINI-E LEDs I used for reverse mounting were not on the Open Parts Library. Seeed Studio's support then sent me a discount coupon for the full cost of the PCBs and assembly, making it free of charge. I uploaded everything to Seeed Studio's Fusion website and received confirmation after the files were reviewed. ![]() The contest guidelines required me to generate Gerber files for manufacturing and assembly files with component positions and BOM. I also added Truchet tiles designs to the board. Considering the various switch types available, I opted to use hot-swap sockets instead of soldering the switches directly to the board. Each key is backlit with a WS2812 RGB LED. The design also includes a rotary encoder for volume control or zoom. The circuit has nine MX keys arranged in a 3x3 matrix, which saves IO pins for additional functions. The design features a PCB using the XIAO RP2040, based on Raspberry Pi's microcontroller. Instead of thinking about a complex full keyboard, I just wanted to make something with a few keys that would work as a macropad with some key combinations. Without hesitation I started to gather information about the keyboards, and to evaluate the right microcontroller for the task. They also want people to use any of their XIAO boards (SAMD21, RP2040, nRF52840 and ESP32C3) on the design. On early July, Seeed Studio launched the Seeed Fusion DIY XIAO Mechanical Keyboard Contest, the main goal of the contest is to allow people to design and assembly their own mechanical keyboards using the PCB manufacturing and assembly service provided by Seeed Studio.
